UpStaff Personnel

waste-crewUpStaff Personnel’s ready-to-work labor force can meet your temporary, short-term and long-term staffing needs.

UpStaff Personnel is a social enterprise of Green Opportunities that provides motivated job seekers with a pathway to career-track employment opportunities, while offering a screened, dependable, and diverse workforce for Asheville-area employers. UpStaff is a member of the national Alternative Staffing Alliance.

UpStaff currently provides staffing solutions for the Hospitality, Housekeeping, Restaurant, and Construction industries.

Our thorough screening process for job candidates includes drug tests and background checks. Prior to job placement with an UpStaff employment partner, our staff meet one-on-one with job seekers to assess the stability of their lives. We identify those who are ready to take on the demands of full-time employment, and mitigate issues that could interfere with an employee’s performance on-the-job. Our team works behind the scenes as needed to provide support services, including childcare, transportation, counseling, and crisis intervention.

How it works:

• Prior to placement with an UpStaff employment partner, most job seekers enroll in GO’s Ready to Work training program, where they complete 24 hours of soft skills instruction covering communication, teamwork, professionalism, and more.

• Case Managers on GO’s staff provide support services as needed during our Ready to Work training program and after job seekers are placed in a job.

• UpStaff provides liability insurance coverage for all program participants.

Market Street in downtown Asheville. Job seekers should bring to the Intake Session their current ID (cannot be expired), social security card or birth certificate, and a voided check or direct deposit form (if they have a bank account). “It was great working with the day laborers from Green Opportunities. Even though sorting garbage throughout the day is not an easy job, the day laborers did a fantastic job of sorting the garbage. They were very professional and understood the difference between the various waste categories. We sorted more waste than we had anticipated. Thanks for the help.”

“There’s a reason Curtis is here. He learns so fast that he is doing what needs to be done before I have to ask him. I couldn’t be happier with his attitude and hard work.”
