Why Social Enterprise?
Green Opportunities (GO) currently operates three social enterprises that work in conjunction with our training programs: Southside Kitchen Catering, Southside Woodworks, and UpStaff Personnel. These enterprises offer paid transitional work experience to GO students and graduates, while also generating revenue that supports our training programs and increases their long-term financial sustainability.
Through our social enterprises, we aim to increase training and employment opportunities for both students and graduates, and expand the pipeline of experienced, dependable GO graduates to permanent, living wage jobs in our community.
When you buy a grab-and-go meal made by Southside Kitchen Catering, purchase a hand-made cutting board crafted by Southside Woodworks, or contract with UpStaff to meet your short- or long-term labor needs, you directly support our students, graduates, training programs, and community. Our social enterprise businesses can cater your next event, work with you to on custom woodworking projects, or provide you with a screened, dependable workforce.
