Why Social Enterprise?

Social Enterprise

Social enterprises are businesses that trade to intentionally tackle social problems, improve communities, provide people access to employment and training, or help the environment (Source: Social Traders).

Since its origin, GO has promoted social enterprise, in various forms, to create real-world applications of job training, provide services to the community, and help our communities be stronger.

Current businesses, such as Upstaff Personnel and Southside Kitchen/We Give a Share, were borne from GO graduates and/or former staff. These are great examples of social enterprise at work today!
