Partner with GO
Become a Partner
GO Business Partners are mission-oriented companies and organizations concerned about people and community health. As a GO Business Partner, you have an opportunity to improve the local economy by investing in our work to train and employ low-income youth and adults. You can invest in one of two ways:
Become a GO Employer: Employ our trained and skilled students by hosting an apprentice for on-the-job training, hiring a training program graduate, or contracting with UpStaff Personnel.
Become a GO Business Sponsor: Provide financial and/or in-kind contributions to GO at one of three levels.
GO can help you strengthen and diversify your workforce, enhance your visibility, and give back to your community. Together, we can build a workforce in Asheville that is sustainable and just.

Why Partner with GO?
As a local employer, you have the opportunity to help make Asheville’s economy inclusive and accessible. Many of our city’s low-income residents face significant barriers to securing living-wage employment, including low educational attainment, lack of childcare, stable housing, or healthcare, and criminal records. Green Opportunities provides the wrap-around support services these individuals need to overcome their barriers and achieve self-sufficiency. In the past three years, GO has graduated over 130 adults from our training programs, 78% of which attained jobs, apprenticeships, or post-secondary education. Sustaining this level of success requires the partnership support of local businesses invested in helping create an inclusive local economy.
Sponsor Us
As a valued partner with GO, Business Sponsors have the opportunity to reach charitable goals, strengthen the local workforce, and increase their market presence throughout Asheville and its surrounding communities.

Employ our Graduates
There are three ways you can employ GO members: by hosting an apprentice, contracting with GO’s staffing agency, UpStaff Personnel, or hiring our graduates directly.
By hiring GO program graduates, GO Employers directly support GO’s mission of building a robust local workforce that is inclusive and just. In exchange, the company receives recognition as an Employment Partner and is featured on our website, social media, and in our newsletter.
Hire our Graduates
Direct Hire
For businesses interested in hiring GO members directly, GO staff will recommend a pool of members who best fit your hiring needs. After the hire, GO’s case managers will continue to be available for member support and case management. Direct Hire businesses receive GO Employer recognition for 12 months from the date of hire.
Host an Apprentice
Work Experience Fridays
By working with you once a week, students will be able to utilize the skills they have developed through GO’s full-time training programs while learning new skills in a specialized trade. Participant pay, workers’ compensation and insurance are all covered by Green Opportunities and the Mountain Area Workforce Development Board.
On-the-Job Training
Our On-the-Job training program gives you the opportunity to host a Youth Corps member (ages 18-24) who has completed one of our training programs. By working with you full-time, students will receive specialized training and experience that will benefit them in their future careers. 50% of workers’ compensation is supplemented by Green Opportunities (caps-off at $10/hr. and 30 hours a week).
Contract with UpStaff Personnel
UpStaff Personnel
UpStaff Personnel–a social enterprise of Green Opportunities–provides motivated job seekers with a pathway to career-track employment opportunities, while offering a screened, dependable, and diverse workforce for local employers. Our thorough screening process includes drug tests and background checks. Learn more.
