GO Receives Support from Wicked Weed Brewing

Green Opportunities is pleased to share that we received a $10,000 donation from Wicked Weed Brewing this week.

 

On Monday, Wicked Weed owner Rick Guthy presented the check to GO’s Executive Director J Hackett at their production facility. “We’re honored to be the recipients of this generous gift,” says Hackett.

Save the Date! Attend a Community Engagement Social this Summer and Learn about Community Resources in Asheville.

 

This summer, the Asheville Housing Authority Family Self Sufficiency Program, SNAP to Skills, and Green Opportunities are co-hosting a series of Community Engagement Socials throughout Asheville.

 

We’ll kick off the series on Friday, June 9th from 4-6 pm at Hillcrest Apartments. We hope you’ll join us at one (or more!) of these family-friendly community celebrations.

Green Opportunities Partners with Biltmore Farms Hotels to Showcase Hospitality Industry Career Pathways to GO Students

Students in GO’s 14th training cycle toured the Biltmore DoubleTree Hotel on April 17, 2017 and met with Biltmore Farms staff members to learn about hospitality career pathways.  

 

For more than a year, Biltmore Farms Hotels and Green Opportunities (GO) have been partnering to ensure that GO Kitchen Ready trainees are aware of the career pathways open to them in the local hospitality industry.
