We’re excited to launch a new training and employment pathway, Ready to Work: Certified Peer Support Specialist, which we’re offering in partnership with Vaya Health and Mission Health.
What is a Peer Support Specialist?
Peer Support Specialists increase positive outcomes for individuals on their recovery paths. Specialists share their own experiences to help others, and the five-day training offered by Vaya Health meets the guidelines of NC’s Certified Peer Support Specialist Program. The class is interactive, and participants are encouraged to share their perspective throughout the training. CPSS salaries in the WNC region range from $30,000-$55,000 annually.
Do I qualify?
– I am 18 years or older.
– I have lived experiences in recovery from a significant mental health or substance use disorder.
– I am in recovery for at least one year.
– I have at least a high school diploma or equivalent.
