Join Green Opportunities Kitchen Ready staff and Asheville Chef Hanan Shabazz for this free workshop on canning, pickling and preserving! Learn to make Southern Chow Chow and how to preserve seasonal foods. This workshop is open to all community members, and will take place in Southside Kitchen (located in the Edington Center at 133 Livingston Street, Asheville, NC 28801). Questions? Community Walk & MAHEC Health Screening

mahec_logoCalling all Southside community members! Join Green Opportunities, MAHEC and B.A.B.S. (Build a Better Salad) for a free Southside health initiative: Community Walk & MAHEC Health Screening. The health screening begins at 9:00 am (blood pressure, weight, BMI etc.), and the community walk begins at 10:00 am.


babslogo2This workshop is open to all community members. Fresh pressed juice and muffins will be provided to participants by B.A.B.S. This event will take place in the Edington Center gymnasium, located at 133 Livingston Street, Asheville, NC 28801.


Both community wellness events are made possible through a grant from The Kresge Foundation’s FreshLo (Fresh, Local and Equitable) Initiative.
