GO Labor Crew |
The GO Labor Crew is a new service aimed at providing local contractors with dependable, short-term labor while offering paid work experience to participants of GO’s green-collar job training programs. GO labor crews are equipped to work on a wide variety of jobs, including construction, agriculture, landscaping, weatherization, solar installation, waste management and general labor.
Why GO?
- By hiring the GO Labor Crew, contractors and other customers are supporting a community-based effort to train and place unemployed individuals with barriers to employment.
- Earnings from temporary employment opportunities offer these individuals and their families stability while they complete their training or await placement in a more permanent job.
- All workers in the GO Labor Crew have received some level of technical and life skills training, including a mandatory10-hour OSHA Construction Safety course.
- GO is fully insured and may be equipped to provide transportation depending on the job site.
How Does it Work?
- Customers call the GO office to schedule a labor crew. Crew size currently available ranges from one to eight workers.
- Workers arrive at the job-site on time, in uniform, and ready to work. A designated crew leader (GO) maintains timesheets for the crew. Timesheets are approved at the end of the day by the site supervisor (customer).
- At the end of the project (or weekly for longer projects) GO charges the customer a flat rate of $14.00 per hour, per worker according to the timesheets. This rate includes wages, payroll taxes, workers compensation insurance and administrative costs*.

* GO reserves the right to charge a higher rate when workers compensation rates exceed those of general labor classification.
