Apprentice Hosts |

The Apprenticeship is a critical component to the Asheville GO training experience. After spending 15 weeks in the “pre-apprenticeship” phase, immersed in service-learning projects and life-skills training, Asheville GO members select one green career pathway in which to specialize. During this specialization, GO members pursue an apprenticeship and community college coursework related to their chosen pathway. The on-the-job training experience during the Apprenticeship phase is the foundation on which a long-term, green-collar career is built.
Apprentice Hosts provide this foundation. In exchange for a financial contribution, Hosts receive one or more full- or part-time apprentices as members of their staff for a period of 20 weeks. The contribution covers the cost of stipends, insurance and administration throughout the Apprenticeship.
