Appalachian Offsets is excited to partner with Asheville GO! on weatherization projects this year. To date, with $30,000 raised, volunteers have helped to install a total of 13,000 CFL’s in Asheville Housing Authority’s low income rental units. The total result for the CFL change outs will be a savings of over $500,000, 5 Million kWh and reduction of 3,700 tons of carbon being released into the atmosphere.
When it comes to building and living green, Artisan Builders Collective and Green Opportunities share a common dream. We have been working together to strengthen our local community through hands-on natural building projects and educational opportunities. These projects help support healthy lifestyles for the people involved and help strengthen the global community.
The Ashevillage Institute (AVI) creates sustainable urban solutions through education, demonstration and action. AVI's living laboratory headquarters is in a downtown neighborhood in Asheville, North Carolina.

Cox Schepp Construction will challenge our GO Apprentice Brandon by placing him in the middle of each type of construction activity that occurs during his time at the Glen Rock Apartment project. Whether it be installation of high performance window systems, batt insulation, solar hot water heating systems, or gray water collection: Miguel will see and experience it all.
It’s important to work in harmony with the communities that nourish us. At Earth Fare, in partnership with our customers, we give thousands of dollars annually to small local non-profits through our Friends of Earth Fare Program.

Grass to Greens seeks to increase food security for all citizens of Asheville by working to get the most fresh, nutritious produce into the hands of the most people, regardless of income. We provide edible landscape design, installation and maintenance services for folks who can afford it and with that profit subsidize gardens for folks who can't. In partnering with The Bountiful Cities Project and Asheville GO, Grass to Greens fulfills its mission to provide job training for the growing green economy and meaningful work for members of the local community.

WNC Green Building Council is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote environmentally sustainable and health conscious building practices through community education. Along with our monthly education series, WNCGBC administers the NC HealthyBuilt Homes program for western North Carolina and Appalachian Offsets, a local carbon offset program.
Winter Green
Winter Green is a North Carolina non-profit organization creating a model for neighborhood food production in the winter. Their vision is to build hoophouses (small, unheated greenhouses) in Asheville communities and to train people to work in them. Winter Green provides an incubator model for winter food production, a training opportunity for green jobs, and education about quality local food and health.
